The trapezius is a strong muscle that covers a large part of the back of the body due to its trapezoidal shape between the occiput, scapula and lower thoracic vertebrae. At the occipital bone, the muscle originates from the linea nuchalis superior (upper neck line) and the protuberantia occipitalis externa (external occipital protuberance). Other points of attachment are at the spinous processes of the cervical vertebrae as well as the thoracic vertebrae. The trapezius is used for shoulder elevation and stabilization, head rotation and neck extension. The scapula can be rotated upward and sideways through the pars descendens (descending part) and ascendens (ascending part). Through the pars transversa (horizontal part), the scapulae are contracted.
If the muscle is tense, it is often noticeable in the neck and due to headaches.
In the video we show you the important trigger points and to which extent you can treat the problem areas with the help of a Triggerding. You don't have a Triggerding yet? No problem, just try it out with a small ball or have a look at our shop.If you are looking for a Triggerding for the neck and between the shoulder blades, we definitely recommend the Tschabbi Boy. It is twice as thick as the other Triggerdinger and therefore a little bit less punctual. Especially in this area it feels comfortable and it is easy to reach the trigger points. You can find the Tschabbi Boy in our store or if you click on the picture!
